Applications now open for Steggles and Sydney Roosters 2012 Charity of Choice
Applications are now open for an Australian children’s charity to become the Steggles and Sydney Roosters Charity Nest’s Charity of Choice for 2012.
The chosen Charity of Choice will join Children’s Cancer Institute Australia, Lifestart and Brisbane Children’s Hospital in receiving an equal share of funds raised for the Steggles and Sydney Roosters Charity Nest throughout the NRL season in 2012.
Since February 2010, the Charity Nest has raised $740,000 for Australian children’s charities. Funds are donated to the Nest for every winning point scored by the Roosters throughout the season. In addition, Steggles conducts various fundraising initiatives across its organisation to help raise further funds.
“The Charity of Choice allows the Steggles and Sydney Roosters Charity Nest to work with more Australian children’s charities. We are very committed to fundraising and building awareness for our charities,†said Celeste Moroney, Steggles Marketing Manager.
Stephen Noyce, CEO for the Sydney Roosters said: “It’s an honour for the Roosters, with Steggles, to be involved in children’s charities in Australia. It’s a great thing to be a part of – for everyone involved.â€
Special Olympics Australia NSW Fundraising and Sponsorship Manager David Streichler said: “As the Charity of Choice in 2011, Steggles and the Sydney Roosters worked closely with us to increase awareness around the services available for athletes with an intellectual disability. The funds we received enabled further development and growth of new programs through our regions in NSW, and also assisted in sending athletes to Athens for the 2011 Special Olympics World Summer Games.
“We very much appreciated the level of interaction from both Steggles and the Sydney Roosters. Not only did our athletes meet the Roosters players but, together with Steggles, provided the facilities and catering requirements for our athletes’ farewell to Athens along with the ongoing donations of Steggles chicken throughout the year.â€
Information for submission requirements can be found on the Steggles Facebook page.
Applications close Friday 27th January 2012. For more information, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
