Steggles donates 30 cents from every Family Feast sold during August

Iconic Australian poultry brand Steggles continues its community support by donating 30 cents from every specially marked Steggles Family Feast chicken sold in August across all major supermarkets nationally.

All the Latest News from Steggles The funds raised will go towards the Steggles and Sydney Roosters Charity Nest, which was established last year and raised over $400,000 in the 2010 NRL season alone.

This year, the Steggles Charity Nest continues to raise funds for four nominated children's charities.

Feeding up to eight people, the Steggles Family Feast is a tender, lightly marinated succulent whole chicken. For the month of August, the packaging will feature a sticker on the front of pack informing consumers that 30 cents from the purchase will go directly to the Steggles Charity Nest.

Steggles Brand Manager, Celeste Moroney said: "Steggles, together with the Sydney Roosters, hopes to raise $50,000 from this initiative alone in an effort to provide the charities with the support and funding needed to continue improving the lives of sick children and their families across Australia.

"Donating 30 cents from every Steggles Family Feast sold across the country in August will provide these children's charities with much-needed assistance and greater awareness for their causes."

The Charity Nest sees Steggles donate $1000 for every point the Sydney Roosters beat their opposition by in the 2011 season, with Sydney Roosters also contributing $250 a point.

Children's Cancer Institute Australia is one of the four children's charities set to benefit from the Steggles Charity Nest at the end of the 2011 season.

Children's Cancer Institute Australia's Corporate Partnership Executive Jo Booth said: "At CCIA our vision is very clear; to save the lives of all children with cancer and eliminate their suffering through world-class medical research.

"Steggles has been a steadfast partner of CCIA's. It is because of campaigns like donating 30 cents from every Steggles Family Feast sold that our scientists can continue to improve the diagnosis, treatments and prevention of childhood cancers.

"Medical research is the only pathway to a cure and with 600 Aussie kids diagnosed with cancer each year, our ultimate goal is to save these children's lives. We are incredibly grateful to Steggles for their ongoing support."

Other charities to receive an equal portion from the Charity Nest are Lifestart, Royal Children's Hospital Brisbane (Working Wonders program) and Special Olympics Australia.

Weighing around 2.1kg, the Steggles Family Feast chicken is just under $11.00 RRP and available in Coles, Woolworths, IGA and Franklins.

All Steggles chickens are grain fed, raised in large barns, and are 100 per cent free of any added hormones or steroids.
