Win or lose Steggles celebrates successful Sydney Roosters season by donating 30 cents from every chook to Australian childrens charities
Iconic Australian poultry brand Steggles today announced its continued support of Australian children’s charities by donating 30 cents from every specially marked Steggles Family Feast chicken purchased in Queensland and New South Wales between now and the end of this year’s rugby league final series.
The funds will go towards the Steggles and Sydney Roosters Charity Nest, which has already raised a whopping $306,000 for seven nominated children’s charities.
The Steggles Family Feast packaging features a sticker on the front of pack informing consumers that 30 cents from the purchase will go directly to the Steggles Charity Nest.
Steggles Managing Director, John Camilleri said: “The Roosters have come so far in just 12 months. Win or lose – we’re thrilled with their achievements and, most importantly, the roll-on effect this has had on the children’s charities we support.â€
The Charity Nest sees Steggles donate $1000 for every point the Sydney Roosters beat their opposition by in the 2010 season, with Sydney Roosters also contributing $250 a point.
Sydney-based charity Lifestart is one of the seven children’s charities set to benefit from the Steggles Charity Nest at the end of the 2010 season.
Lifestart CEO Suzanne Becker said: “This is a fantastic contribution for us and the money will help us reach our goal of building a new early childhood intervention centre in Eastern Sydney for children with disability or developmental delay.
“Families greatly appreciate the leadership the Charity Nest has shown in supporting this goal with the launch of Cubes for Kids in July and ongoing assistance. This has encouraged others in the community to help kids with a disability, although we still have a way to go.
“We congratulate the Roosters on a very successful season and thank the Charity Nest for its great commitment to children’s charities.â€
Other charities to receive an equal portion from the Charity Nest are Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service, Royal Children’s Hospital Brisbane (Working Wonders program), Camp Quality, the Children’s Cancer Research Institute, Autism SA and Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation in Perth.
Steggles Family Feast chicken is available in Woolworths, IGA and Franklins.
